Mary Anne McLane Detweiler earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Temple University in 1989. She began her career as a reporter for a local weekly newspaper in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, before pursuing a law degree.
Ms. Detweiler graduated valedictorian from Widener University School of Law in 1995. During law school, she gained valuable experience clerking for Delaware Supreme Court Justice Maurice A. Hartnett III as a Wolcott Fellow and as a law clerk with the Public Defender’s Office. After graduating, she completed a judicial clerkship with Judge Richard R. Cooch of the Delaware Superior Court.
Ms. Detweiler is admitted to practice law in the State of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Her practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury and consumer law, representing individuals in both state and federal courts.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Detweiler has served as an adjunct instructor at Goldey-Beacom College, teaching courses in public speaking and negotiation. She has also volunteered as a pro bono attorney for the Delaware Office of the Child Advocate.
